- MY PRINTER CAN’T RECOGNISE THE CARTRIDGE OR COMES UP WITH AN ERROR MESSAGE
First of all make sure you have removed any clip protectors and tear off strips. Ensure that the cartridge is seated correctly, you will normally hear a click as it clicks into position. Remove and re-install the cartridge until the printer recognises it. If this doesn't work, turn off your printer and re-boot your computer, then turn the printer on again. - I HAVE INSTALLED THE INK CARTRIDGES BUT WHEN I PRINT, THE PAGES COME OUT BLANK!
It is important to store your cartridges in the upright position. If you installed your cartridge immediately after receiving it we would recommend letting it settle in it’s normal print position for 24 hours prior to use.
The most common cause of a blank page been produced when trying to print, is that the ‘Tear off Strip’ has not been removed from the cartridge prior to installation. If it has already been removed perform a print test to see what the problem is, a couple of head cleaning cycles will normally return things back to normal. If you did forget to remove the ‘Tear off Strip’ you may have problems getting the ink back into the print head. Perform one head cleaning cycle then leave overnight, then perform a print test and further cleaning cycles if required.

- COLOURS ARE PRINTING IN THE WRONG COLOUR WHEN I PRINT A PAGE.
Most print heads have a series of tiny holes through which ink has to pass. Should any of these become blocked you can experience colours that are printed incorrectly throughout your printout. Performing a print test will normally confirm this, then perform as many cleaning cycles as necessary to clear the problem.

- HOW DO I FIND OUT WHEN MY EPSON PRINTER WAS MANUFACTURED?
On the underneath of your Epson printer you will see 3 or 4 small dials moulded into the plastic, later printers have 4 dials in a line.
There is an arrow in each dial pointing to the relevant number.
There are only 2 dials that are important. These tell you the year and month of manufacture.
Dial 1 is filled with 2 digit numbers (for example 06 07 08 09 etc.) this is the year.
Dial 2 is filled with digits from 1 through to 12, this is the month.
The remaining dials let you know the day of the month (01 for the first day of the month, 18 for the 18th, 30 for the 30th etc.)
For example the dial that has the numbers 0 through to 3 is the first digit of the day and the other dial that has the numbers 0 through to 9 is the second digit of the day.

- V4 (Version 4) CARTRIDGES – NOT RECOGNISED ERROR.
Epson obviously want you to purchase their cartridges. So now on the latest printer models the Ink Monitor function has been disabled when using compatible cartridges. The good news is that it still works in a different way when using our cartridges.
For those of you that didn’t know, there is no mechanical link between the cartridge Chip that powers the Ink Monitor, and the actual ink level in the ink chamber of the cartridge. The printer simply diagnoses what’s been printed and calculates how much ink is been used.
When using one of our cartridges the printer does the same thing. Even though the Ink Monitor is not been shown it is still calculating when the cartridge should be empty. But when empty, instead of telling you to change the cartridge the printer shows a ‘Not Recognised’ error.
So to summarise when the Not Recognised error is displayed after the cartridge has been in use will normally mean it is empty.
Please Note: When using our Ink Tanker range they hold either 3.45 or 2.56 more times ink than a standard cartridge. The printer is calibrated for standard capacity cartridges and does not expect the cartridge to hold so much ink. So the first time you get this warning your cartridge will not be empty, so if you still have ink in the cartridge you simply need to reset the chip.
To do this just remove and replace the cartridge (as you would when replacing an empty cartridge) and the chip will be reset (you do not need to separate the cartridge).

- WHEN I INSTALLED MY CARTRIDGE INTO MY PRINTER IT WAS TAKING A LONG TIME TO INITIALISE SO I TURNED IT OFF. I NOW ONLY GET BLANK PRINTS
When you install any new cartridge you must allow the printer to initialise. This allows ink to pass into the print head.

If it has already been removed perform a print test to see what the problem is, a couple of head cleaning cycles will normally return things back to normal.
